I earned my BA from Brown University in African American Studies and then worked for many years as a community and labor organizer in Rhode Island, primarily with SEIU 1199NE.
I am now a PhD candidate in Political Science at Boston University. My research centers on organized groups, social movements, and institutions in US politics, and the development of — and conflict over — the unequal operation of racial and economic power in the United States.
My dissertation is on Black workers and the public sector union upsurge of the 1960s.
